Below are Frequently Asked Questions for assisting you with NTpage.
Q. I installed the NTpage Server.  I then installed the NTpage Client and when I go to send a message, I get an error that says "an error occurred while refreshing users and groups from the NTpage Server.  Error writing names file"

A.  During the setup of NTpage Server, it asked you to Stop and then Start the NTpage Server.  Neglecting this step causes the above problem.  In future versions, this may be done automatically for you.

Q. How do I uninstall NTpage?

A.  Go to Control Panel, select Add/Remove programs, select the line that reads NTpage and Click on Add/Remove.

Q.  NTpage Server can't seem to connect to my paging carrier.  What's wrong?

A.  Make sure you have the right phone number to the "TAP" port at the paging company.  Make sure you have specified a modem initialization string that turns data compression and error correction off.  If you still can't make it work, send the TAP log file to ron@ntpage.com so that I can evaluate it.  You get at the TAP log file in the NTpage Administrator under Administration / Adminitrator menu item.  Select on the Server + and then click on the + on logs.  Click on TAP and the log will come up in Notepad.  Select and send in the log file.

Q. Problem: I get a screen asking for a SQL username and password when starting the NTpage Administrator.

A.  Go into "Services" from the Windows Administrator Tools.  Find the "NTpage Server" service.  Double Click and make sure the "Allow service to interact with desktop" checkbox is checked.
