|
| Pager - Send to the pager only
| | Email - Send to their email account only.
| | Pager and Email - all messages will be send to the pager and also sent to email. This option is handy for the user to have a copy of all pages sent also in their email system.
| |
| - Pager Type
- Select the type of pager you are setting up
|
| Alphanumeric - pager that can accept full text alphanumeric messages
| | Numeric - pager that can only display numbers Based on the type of pager you select different information is needed for setup. Both are listed below.
| |
Alphanumeric Pager Configuration - Setup for alphanumeric pagers
| - Pager ID
- This is a number that is given to you by the paging company. It is usually 7 or 10 digits. This number is unique for each pager you receive from your paging company. This is how the paging company identifies your alphanumeric pager.
|
| - Paging Service
- Select the paging service for this pager from the list. If the paging service is not in the list you can add it using the NTpage Administrator. See Paging Services for more information.
|
| - Send a maximum of XXX characters . . .
- Enter the maximum number of characters of each message you want sent to the pager. This option is handy if you are fowarding all you email messages to your pager via NTpage. If you are this option will keep you from receiving super long messages and filling up your pager or more air time than your want. For example if you set this option to 120 characters, then you will only the first 120 characters of the message will actually be sent to the pager.
|
| - Break messages into a maximum of XXX pages
. - All paging services have a maximum number of characters that can be sent to the paging terminal in one block. Each block that is sent to the paging company by NTpage is then sent as a single page to the pager. This option allows you to limit the number of pages a single message is broken into. This also allows you to limit how many slots are used in your pager for each message. Note: By setting this item to a low number, it is possible that you will not receive the whole message on the pager. This is because NTpage automatically breaks the pages into the maximum size for the paging company. For example, if you send a message that is 180 characters, and the paging company can only handle 80 characters per page and this parameter was set to 2, then NTpage would send out 2 pages of 80 characters each and be complete. The last 20 characters would not be sent.
|
Numeric Pager Configuration - Configure a numeric pager.
| - Dial Area Code
- Enter the area code of the pager. Go ahead and enter it even if the pagers phone number is local. NTpage knows if it is local or not and will dial appropriately.
|
| - And phone number
- Enter the phone number assigned to the pager.
|
| - Then wait XXX seconds
- After dialing the phone number wait this many seconds before having NTpage touch tone the PIN number if any.
|
| - Then, touch tone PIN number . . . and wait XXX seconds
- If to send a numeric page you have to enter a PIN number, enter it here. If there is no PIN number required then leave this field blank. If there is a PIN number required enter it and then also how many seconds to wait before touch toning the numeric message to send (the number you want displayed on the pager).
|
| - Send the numeric message and then, touch tone # to end the call
. - If you need to touch tone any other digit to end the call enter it here. Most paging companies know you are done entering the touch tones by entering a # (pound sign).
|
For both types of pagers
| - Hold pages overnight
-This is a really handy feature. If you enter times in here then NTpage will hold any messages received between these times each day and hold them in it's queues until these times pass. Then NTpage will automatically send the messages. This is great so you can turn your pager off at night and then turn it on in the morning and still get any pages that might have been sent during the night. It's also great if you leave your pager on just in case of an emergency, but don't want all your normal messages received over night to go to your pager.
